One thing that I have started doing since we moved to Missouri is buying whole chickens as opposed to chicken pieces. Buying the whole chicken is a lot more messy and time consuming but you get so much meat for the price.
Anyway, it also provides a learning experience for us. We have our own anatomy lab right there in our kitchen. Sunday night I cleaned out the chicken and Monday Mark separated the meat from the bones. In the process he told me what each bone was and attempted to figure out how they fit together.
Buying the whole chicken is so worth the lessons that Mark teaches me:)
