Peach Tree Farm

My parents stayed with us for a week. We filled the week completely full with activities. We went out to eat a couple of times, visited some neat antique stores, walked the local parks, ate too many treats, played cards, stayed up far too late talking (did I mention that Mark and I are the old ones when we get together with my parents? We were ready for bed long before they were), and went to Peach Tree Farm.
Peach Tree Farm is a local farm just 15 miles west of Columbia. The actual peach orchard is about 1 mile from the homestead where we visited. We went on a hay ride around the property. We saw a pond, teepee, and several animals that we were able to feed. Taysom was in heaven! He loved the animals and babbled at them, mostly saying, "oohh" in a deep voice.
There were also two buildings that served as stores. The log buildings originally were in southern Missouri and built in the 1800's but the farm owner bought them and numbered each log, brought them home, and rebuilt them. We spent all afternoon there.

White Coat Ceremony

On October 14th the MU College of Veterinary Medicine held its' annual White Coat Ceremony. This year it was held at the Missouri Theatre in downtown Columbia. Mark's parents, his brother and company, as well as my parents joined us for the weekend.
The white coat ceremony marks the end of classwork and the beginning of clinics. Yahoo! Clinics will continue through May of 2014. Mark is loving being in clinic and not sitting on hard chairs all day.
While we had family in town, we also attended the Pumpkin Festival in Hartsburg, population 104. There were a couple hundred booths with all kinds of food, trinkets, and overpriced items. But that is what makes it fun!

                                      

We have FuN

We have been extremely busy since returning to Missouri. Mark started his last 8 week block of class work and will move on to clinics in just under 2 weeks. Taysom and I spend our days playing and enjoying the weather. With fall comes brunch, bbq's, get-togethers, and most importantly to Mark- BYU football.  Also, we had a hail storm with some of the hail the size of a quarter.

We've taken Tays to the park on a couple of different occasions. He likes the swing but is mostly fascinated by the wood chips. Mark plays football on Saturday mornings with the brethren in the ward.  Last Saturday we made our way to St. Louis to attend the Temple. It was a much needed  trip. We enjoyed lunch out and a little shopping.

We are loving our lil' man more everyday and we laugh all of the time with him. He is growing and learning so fast. He is full on crawling and may start walking soon. He has 6 teeth, loves cheese, the dishwasher, and the fridge, and finds the t.v. remote to be most entertaining. Oh- and my water bottle- definitely would rather drink from that than his sippy cup. Chickens, Straw, & an Orchard

I took these pictures at my in-laws' home on Tays' 8 month birthday.Taysom loved the chickens, the sheep, the straw, and the homegrown apples! Too bad I didn't get any pictures of him with the sheep. Oh! And he drove the old farm truck. We sure love this little guy!
