Name and a Blessing

Our Christmas was very special this year. Taysom was given a name and a blessing here in our home Christmas afternoon. We shared this special occasion with many of our immediate family present.

After we sorted all of our baby clothes I picked out an outfit to bring Taysom home in. The outfit (seen below) is a "newborn" outfit. But our little Taysom does not fit into any of the clothes we have for him. They are all so baggy. We just died of laughter when we put these clothes on and saw how huge they were. So for a few hours he was our lil' thug.

                                       

Also, he loves to sleep with his hands by his face. He gets so mad if we try to wrap his arms in the blanket.

He's Here

Taysom Mark Summers was born on December 8th at 6:54 a.m. He was a huge one wieghing in at a whopping 5 lbs. 14 oz. and he is 19 1/4" long.  Jenelyn is feeling fine and recovering well. We are excited to have our little guy, Let the first grandson spoiling begin!

D{ue} Day

And still no immediate signs of an impending delivery...

38 weeks

I really don't mind being pregnant but I am ready to be done because I am so ready to meet our little guy!



ready to "pop"

I know you can't see much of a tummy there, but that's what it looks like when I sit down.

Yesterday my friend, Kelli, threw me a baby shower. The theme was ready to "pop." She did a fabulous job and we had a great turnout. It was so fun to get these sweet ladies together. We played the dirty diaper game where you try to guess what kind of candy bar is in each diaper! The Reese's peanut butter cup was the best! We also played a game where each lady took as many squares of toilet paper as she thought I am big around. If you are curious how big I am, take 10 squares of toilet paper and wrap them in a loose circle.

Looks a little grossed out, huh?

I officially hit 36 weeks yesterday. Now that we are down to the wire we have decided that we should really try to decide on a name. That will be a surprise for everyone! Here is my 36 week side profile.

Say What?!

Only 8 weeks left... how is this even possible? Exicted. Anxious. Nervous. Ready. Not ready. So many thoughts going through my mind.

Oh yeah, those purple curtains behind me...aren't they the bomb? I love them! My parentals bought them when they were here in July!

30 Weeks

 Last week we pretty well turned our family room upside down sorting the clothes we have acquired into age groups. It was amazing to see what we have thus far although I feel like we have yet to make a dent in what we really need. But we still have 10 weeks (give or take) to prepare.

3rd Trimester

 28 weeks, about 12 to go. It is wonderful to think that we only have 3 months before we get to meet our little guy!

And the winner is...

a boy... Maybe even one that will look like this come December.

What a Ride.

This month has flown by. Each weekend something magical was happening. The first weekend of the May we celebrated our 2 year anniversary. The following weekend we road tripped to Iowa for Ryan's graduation and his daughter, Emmie's, blessing. The 3rd weekend we drove to St. Louis to attend the Temple. And just last night we returned from Nebraska where we spent Memorial Day weekend and visited family. I'll post pictures when I get home! We have loved every minute!

Needed Prayers

On Tuesday one of Troy's friends, Gates Hunsaker, was involved in a snowboarding accident. He broke his neck at the C6 vertebrae. He went in for surgery yesterday and the surgery went as well as could be expected. They are hoping that this surgery will allow for upper body control but he is not expected to walk again.

Please keep Gates and his family in your prayers. They are in need of much love and support at this time. Gates was supposed to enter the MTC yesterday, it seems that he now has a different kind of mission to serve in this life. Also, if you attend the Temple, please add them to the prayer role!

Spring Break.

Life is tough once you become an adult and enter the work field. For the first time in my life I did not get Christmas break, and again now, I don't get spring break. But it is nice to know Mark will be spending his in Utah! He left this afternoon... if you see him, say hello.

25 & Galactic Fun Zone

On March 1st, Mark turned the big 2-5. He celebrated by taking an anatomy test. Woot woot. We had a special dinner that night and then Mark opened presents. I also made cherry cheesecake! Delicious.His big present is that he gets to spend his spring break in Utah! So jealous...He is an amazing husband and I am so happy he is mine!

On another note, yesterday we went with Dustin & Kelli to the Galactic Fun Zone. They had a deal online that for $20 you received 40 tokens, 4 games of laser tag, and one hour of bowling for 4 people. It was a steal of a deal. We had a good time and spent a couple of hours acting like kids again!

The bowling alley was cool. It had a lounge feel to it and at the end of the lanes were 4 big screen tv's. They were showing the basketball games which I think Mark and Dustin really enjoyed!

It is hard to believe that we have now lived in Missouri for about 7 months. This place is starting to feel more like home, minus the mountains and our close proximity to family. But nonetheless, home.
